Toy Ride to be held Dec. 13

The Newton County Sheriff’s Office 16th annual Toy Ride will take place Saturday, Dec. 13 to help benefit local children for Christmas.

The ride will leave at 10:30 a.m. from the Kmart Shopping Center at the corner of Hwy. 278 and Turner Lake Road, after a 9 a.m. registration.

A cash donation of $20, or one toy per bike helps fund the project, with no charge for passengers. Entrants will receive one T-shirt, and additional shirts are available for $25. There will also be door prizes and a 50/50 drawing.

The ride will be escorted by the Newton County Sheriff’s Office throughout the county and will end at The Church of Covington on Hwy. 142 for lunch.
