14: Hendersons announces end, others celebrate their longevity
14-Hendersons

For more than 60 years Henderson’s Restaurant has served the people of Newton County and 2016 marked the beginning of the end of that legacy. In August it was announced that the restaurant would close pending Georgia Department of Transportation (GDOT) road work on Highway 36.

Henderson’s wasn’t the only long-term Newton County business celebrated by its community this year. While, they didn’t announce their closing, Benton’s Welding celebrated 60 years serving Newton County and Covington Ford celebrated 75 years since being purchased by Wendell Crowe.
