When officers arrived at The Depot after receiving a call in reference to an intoxicated man attempting to leave on his motorcycle, they observed a man fighting with one of The Depot's security guards.
The responding officers told the man to stop fighting, turn around and put his hands behind his back.
Instead, the man assumed a fighting stance towards the officers. In turn, the officers retrieved their Tasers and pointed them at the man's chest.
One officer told the man to place his hands behind his back or he would receive a five-second shock from the Taser.
After the man refused, one of the officers administered shocks to the man in the chest causing the man to fall to the ground.
After the shock stopped, the man continued to fight the officers and resist arrest. Another shock was administered.
At that time, one of the officers was able to get the man on his stomach and put him in handcuffs.
The man was taken to the Newton County Detention Center and charged with Obstruction of an Officer and Public Drunkenness.
