IN BRIEF:  Snapping Shoals EMC is reporting 58 outages affecting 6696 customers. Snapping Shoals EMC provides electricity to 95,000 homes and businesses primarily in Newton, Rockdale, Henry and southern DeKalb counties.

Several trees and power lines are reported down around Rockdale county following the storm that hit shortly before 7 p.m. Tuesday, according to Rockdale County Fire Rescue.
