Storage facility robbed at gunpoint

Covington police are looking for a man they said robbed the South of the Square Storage located on Ga. Highway 36 on Tuesday.

Chief Ken Malcom said the robbery happened around noon, when a black male wearing a black hoodie, black shorts and black tennis shoes with red laces walked in and demanded money from a female clerk in the store.

Malcom said the man pulled out a silver handgun and ordered the clerk to give him all of the money out of the till. The clerk gave the man the money and then he demanded her to give him all of her personal jewelry and her cell phone. The woman complied. He then tied the woman up and left the store. The clerk was not injured.

Malcom said police are looking for the male who was describes as over 6 feet tall and having a stout build. Malcom said if anyone has any information about the robbery should contact CPD at (770) 786-7605 or at covingtonpolice.com.
