A burning car found in woods off Capes Drive early Saturday morning was apparently intentionally ignited, and fire officials are asking that anyone with information on the blaze come forward.

Around 3:37 a.m., witnesses called 911 and reported the fire. According to reports, one witness was coming home from a friend’s house when he saw the fire in the woods. He went inside his home and alerted his father and the two called for help.

The next morning, authorities were informed that the car — a 2007 red Acura RX — had been reported stolen out of Gwinnett County, according to Fire Marshall Chief David Carter.
