AUGUSTA, Ga. - Authorities say two Mormon missionaries were robbed at gunpoint while they were discussing baptism with a man in Augusta.
Richmond County sheriff's deputies say the women told them they were talking about baptism with the man when he pulled out a gun and demanded their purses.
The Augusta Chronicle reports that the man fled with their purses, which included a Book of Mormon, a Bible, camera, cell phone, and driver's licenses.
Authorities say the women were preaching on behalf of the Utah-based Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints when they were robbed in the 2300 block of Winston Way around 7:25 p.m. Saturday.
