CLEVELAND, Ga. (AP) — Authorities say a hiker was injured after falling off a waterfall in the north Georgia mountains.

Georgia Department of Natural Resources spokesman Mark McKinnon said the man was near the top of Raven Cliff Falls in White County on Sunday when he fell.

The Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports (http://on-ajc.com/ZClKFL) that DNR officials were involved with helping rescue the man and assisted White County authorities.

McKinnon did not have details about the man's injuries, and a call to the White County Sheriff's office was not immediately returned.

The area near Cleveland, Georgia is part of the Chattahoochee Wildlife Management Area.
