DECATUR, Ga. (AP) — Jurors are scheduled to begin a sixth day of deliberations in the trial of suspended DeKalb County CEO Burrell Ellis.
CBS 46 reports (http://bit.ly/1seJDNP) that jurors are expected to return to court Wednesday after they were unable to reach a verdict Tuesday afternoon.
Ellis is charged with bribery, theft, extortion and perjury. He's accused of pressuring county contractors into giving him contributions for his 2012 re-election campaign.
Ellis has maintained his innocence. If convicted, he faces up to 20 years in prison.
