SOCIAL CIRCLE, Ga. (AP) — Georgia wildlife officials are offering statewide information on deer hunting online.
The Georgia Department of Natural Resources' wildlife resources division has an internet database that houses biological deer data collected by biologists and technicians.
The information is collected from wildlife management area check stations and deer processors across the state. The agency says the database has a wealth of information about deer in Georgia and is used to make management decisions.
State deer biologist and database designer Charlie Killmaster says access to the information can help wildlife management area hunters plan for the season.
The database has two main sections, wildlife management area hunt summaries and raw biological data organized by county or wildlife management area
