ATLANTA (AP) — Georgia officials are kicking off a holiday safe driving campaign.

The Governor's Office of Highway Safety's Operation Zero Tolerance begins Friday. It's set to include increased patrols and high visibility enforcement.

The agency says nearly 44,000 crashes resulted in 13,142 injuries and 160 deaths on Georgia roads from Nov. 20, 2013 to Dec. 31, 2013, and impaired drivers killed 18 people.

The state campaign is being launched in conjunction with the national Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over initiative.
