The Newton County Special Olympics Masters Program, which is for graduates of high school, has had two gatherings to celebrate holidays and to help collect cans for the local food pantry.

The gatherings were organized by Vickie Hamlin, including dinner, BINGO, karaoke, dancing, “open mic” singing, etc., and were held at the Turner Lake Recreation Department.

The Masters program holds many parties throughout the year and also participates in other events such as the Covington Christmas parade, winter games, bowling, track and field and equestrian.

If you know of an adult who has graduated from high school and has special needs and would like to participate in the Masters program, call Vickie Hamlin at (678) 787-2907.
