Social Circle plans Thanksgiving service

The City of Social Circle is inviting everyone in the community to band together to give thanks this weekend at the annual community Thanksgiving celebration.

Sunday at 6 p.m., several local churches will become one at the First Baptist Church in Social Circle.

The free event is open to anyone who wants to attend, and isn’t limited to Social Circle residents.

All offerings received during the service will be used to purchase holiday turkeys for members of each of the churches who are in need.

"Any time you have churches coming together to worship together, it strengthens the fabric of the community," said Mike Miller, manager of Social Circle Main Street.

"Our different churches have different personalities, but the unique thing about Social Circle and the pastors association is that they cooperate and aren’t really in competition with one another."
