The Newton County Sheriff's Office will be holding their fourth annual pill drop April 28. From 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., the NCSO will work with the National Drug Enforcement Administration to "Take Back" unused prescription pills, no questions asked.

The event will be held inside Walmart - both on Industrial Blvd. and on Salem Road. NCSO officials will be on hand to collect the potentially dangerous expired, unused and unwanted prescription drugs for destruction. The service is free and anonymous for all Newton County (and surrounding area) residents with no questions asked.

"Many do not realize the tragic impact that prescription drugs (when abused) has on our society," said Sheriff Ezell Brown in a press release. "When law enforcement and the community work together it makes the quality of life better for us all."
