U.S. Rep. Hank Johnson (GA-04) has announced that he is partnering with local city governments to provide better constituent services to Fourth District residents.
The size of the district has expanded — and while the district office is centrally located in Lithonia, the distance from the outlying counties can be inconvenient for some constituents.
Instead of opening separate offices, Johnson worked with local mayors in Covington, Snellville, Conyers and North DeKalb to use existing meeting space in respective city halls.
Fourth District constituents can now call the Lithonia office at 770-987-2291 to make an appointment with a congressional office representative at the location of their choice.
"I want to thank the respective mayors and the CEO for working with our office," said Johnson. "This way, we can better serve our constituents by making services more accessible and also save taxpayer funds by holding down overhead costs. It’s a win-win situation."
Congressional offices work on behalf of constituents concerning: veterans’ benefits, Social Security and Medicare, military services issues, federal grants, immigration concerns, IRS issues, passport applications, service academy nominations, small business assistance, federal student loans, Postal Service matters and Washington, D.C. tours, among others.
