Rainbow to distribute 40,000 lbs of food
Volunteers sought in Porterdale Saturday

Update 12/18/2014: Due to inclement weather, the event will be postponed to next Saturday, Dec. 27 at the same time. 

 

The Rainbow Covenant Ministries, of Newton County, will be distributing 40,000 pounds of food from the Atlanta Food Bank Saturday, Dec. 20.

The deliveries will be from the ministries, located at 9 Hemlock Street in Porterdale from 9 a.m.-1 p.m.

Rev. Clara Lett said Rainbow Covenant Ministries is hoping to get 100 volunteers to help distribute the food.

Volunteers will need to be at Rainbow Covenant Ministries at 8 a.m. Saturday and will be sought to tag bags, help compile initial paperwork and pack recipients’ trunks.
