Polar Express comes to the county library

The fourth annual Polar Express Train Raffle held by the Kiwanis Club of Covington is currently on display at the Newton County Library on Floyd Street. This year’s Polar Express train layout is the last one built by Kiwanis Club member and avid Lionel modeler and collector Richard Rawlins. The train and its layout will be on display in the Covington Branch Library’s children’s room until Thursday, Dec. 17, the date of the drawing. The raffle raises funds to support the Newton County Library System and the Kiwanis Club’s Joe Croom Scholarship fund. Raffle tickets are $5 each and are being sold at the library or by Kiwanis Club members up to the time of the drawing.
