"Nutcracker" auditions begin Saturday

Auditions for the Covington Regional Ballet's performance of "Nutcracker" will be held Saturday for ages five and up.

The young dancers will take the stage alongside members of the ballet company and professional guest dancers, during the performances Dec. 10-11.

Children ages five and six are asked to come to Mainstreet Dance on College Avenue off the square from 12:30 p.m. to 1:15 p.m. Ages seven and up are asked to come from 1:15 p.m. to 2 p.m.

Girls must have their hair pulled back off their face and be dressed in ballet leotard, tights and ballet shoes. Boys should be in a T-shirt, gym shorts and socks.

There is a $125 fee, but that can be made in monthly installments and scholarships are available. For more information, contact YA Program Director Abigail Morgan Coggin at acoggin@newtoncountyarts.org.
