The Newton Medical Center will celebrate National Doctors' Day Friday by providing lunch for its doctors.
"We will be providing a catered lunch for physicians on staff at NMC. They will also be receiving a Doctors' Day gift from NMC," said Linda Moseley, Director of Marketing and Business Development for NMC.
The idea for National Doctors' Day began in Winder, Ga. on March 30, 1933 when the wife of a doctor set aside a day to recognize physicians like her husband. The U.S. House and Senate officially declared "National Doctors' Day" in 1990.
