The Newton High School Fine Arts Department will be performing the hit Broadway musical Rent this week.
The school version of the show will run from Dec. 10-12 at 7 p.m. at Newton High School, 1 Ram Way, Covington. Tickets are $6 in advance and $8 at the door.
RENT is the story of impoverished young artists struggling to survive and create a life in New York City's East Village in the thriving days of Bohemian Alphabet City, under the shadow of HIV/AIDS. RENT also incorporates the social complexities of suicide, substance abuse, transgender and homosexuality under the guise of love and tolerance.
The Newton County School system advises that the show contains subject matter that is sensitive in nature and intended for a mature audience.
To purchase tickets please call Tawana Parker-Bellamy at 770-787-2250 ext. 5541 or email at bellamy.tawana@newton.k12.ga.us
The RENT school version is presented through special arrangement with Music Theatre International.
