NHS senior wins D.A.R. essay contest

Rhyan Davis, a senior at Newton High School, recently won the Good Citizen Essay Contest, sponsored by the local Newton County Sergeant Newton Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution.

The essay contest was open to all Newton County high school seniors.

The title of Davis’ essay was “Our American Heritage and Our Responsibility for Preserving it.” The essay has been entered in the district judging.
