Newton basketball faces Rockdale tonight with the girls starting at 6 p.m. and he boys hitting the floor at 7:30 p.m. It's a makeup game from the much-anticipated matchup that was cancelled Saturday because of the snowstorm.

The Rams come into tonight fresh off a 74-56 win at Luella last night. The win was Newton' sixth straight and pushed their record to 11-2 (5-0 Region 2-AAAAA). Derrick Henry scored a season-high 32 points to lead the way.

Tonight's game features two of the best players in the state when Henry matches up with Rockdale's Kevin Ware. Ware was an ESPN Super 60 junior last year and has committed to play at the University of Tennessee next year. Henry is the leading his team and the county in scoring at 21 points per game.
