It’s time once again for the annual Newton County Sheriff’s Office toy run bike ride.

For the past 13 years, the sheriff’s office has collected toys for needy children in Newton County and this year is no different. Beginning at 10 a.m. (kick stands up at 11:30 a.m.)  Saturday in the Kmart shopping center, riders will be escorted through Newton County by the NCSO.

Participation in the ride requires only a cash donation and/or an unwrapped toy. Anyone who is not able to participate in the ride but would like to donate an unwrapped toy, cash or gift cards, is asked to bring those things to the Kmart shopping center Saturday morning.

All proceeds from the event will go to needy families in Newton County. Last year the event helped 62 families provide Christmas gifts to their children.
