Motorcyclist dies in single-vehicle crash

A College Park police officer was killed in a single vehicle crash Memorial Day on Interstate 20, according to the Newton County Sheriff’s Office (NCSO).

Sgt. David Lee Hough, Jr., 31, was traveling westbound on I-20 Monday when he lost control of his bike near exit 98, said Sgt. Cortney Morrison of the NCSO. Upon arrival of deputies, Hough was transported to Piedmont Newton Medical Center in Covington where he was later pronounced dead.

Hough was a resident of Powder Springs and a police sergeant with the College Park Police Department.
