A Monticello woman was killed Thursday morning in a car accident on Flat Shoals Road and the Covington Bypass Road.

Cynthia Marie Dunlap, 45, who was a passenger in a Mitsubishi Galant, was killed when a Ford Expedition, driven by 54-year-old John Bigham failed to stop at the four-way stop.

According to Georgia State Patrol spokesman Gordy Wright, Dunlap died at the scene. The driver of the car she was in was transported to Atlanta Medical and Bigham, along with five passengers in his vehicle, were taken to Newton Medical Center.

The crash is still being investigated and charges are pending.
