Miracle League registration to begin
miracle-league

The Miracle League in Newton County is one more step closer to becoming a reality.

Registration for Miracle League athletes begins through the Newton County Recreation Commission on Jan. 5 and runs through Feb. 27.

To register, athletes and their parents can go online to newtonrecreation.com or come in person to the main gym at the Turner Lake Recreation Complex. Registration fees are $35 for Miracle League athletes with ages broken down as follows: Youth (ages 4-21) and Adult (ages 22 and up).

Miracle League ball will begin at City Pond Park in mid-April.

Each Miracle League athlete is asked to complete a plyer profile, to be used by their future “buddy” in order to introduce the athlete to their buddy (an able-bodied peer that assists each athlete with batting, pushing a wheelchair, assisting in the outfield, etc.).

Newton Recreation is seeking volunteers who would like to serve as coaches/assistant coaches/and/or buddies. Applications for any of these roles can be downloaded from the newton recreation website as well.
