A 26-year old male visiting a gravesite at Lawnwood Cemetery was stabbed in the shoulder by an older male Tuesday.
According to NCSO Sgt. Cortney Morrison the victim was approached by the suspect asking for money. When the victim advised the suspect he had only a dollar, the suspect walked away.
The suspect then went to the parking lot where he attempted to break into the visitor's car.
"A physical altercation ensued and the victim was stabbed in the shoulder," Morrison said in a release.
The victim sustained non-life threatening injuries, and his wallet was taken during the altercation but later recovered.
As of Wednesday morning the suspect, described as an older white male, wearing a camo coat with a dark gray beard, a scar on the right side of his face and tattoos, was at large.
