A Covington man was arrested Saturday evening and charged with molesting two boys.

David Randall Brooks, 53, is charged with two counts each of child molestation, cruelty to children in the first degree, enticing a child for indecent purposes and sexual battery.

According to Newton County Sheriff's Lt. Tyrone Oliver, the charges stem from a complaint initiated by an 11-year-old boy. The child was spending the night at Brooks' home with a 14-year-old boy that lives in the house.

The 11-year-old reportedly told his mother that Brooks was "rubbing on his chest and attempted to put his hand down his pants," according to Oliver. The child said that when he told Brooks to stop, the man complied.

During the investigation, the 14-year-old boy who lived in the home with Brooks said that the man had done the same thing to him. That child has since been removed from the home.

Brooks, whose last known employer was Conyers Middle School, served two days before bonding out on a $25,000 bond.
