A Kroger employee had to pull an attacker off a cashier Saturday afternoon.
The Newton County Sheriff’s Office was called to the Kroger on Salem Road in reference to a fight call by dispatch. The caller stated customers were holding another customer down due to him attacking a cashier.
According to reports when deputies arrived, they saw just in front of the self-check-out lines, two males, one a Kroger employee, holding down a male suspect.
Witnesses told NCSO that a cashier was yelling for help with the male chasing after her. The woman was then knocked down with the suspect on top of her, according to witness reports.
Andrae Hendrey, of Dawn Court, Conyers, was arrested and charged with battery.
