The Liberty Middle School TSA Robotics Team has won the 2017 VEX IQ Teamwork Challenge Georgia State Championship.

According to Dr. Raymont Burke, they are now eligible to compete on the world stage against teams from all over the U.S., as well as global teams including teams from Germany, Japan and China. The competition will be held April 23-25 in Lexington, Kentucky.

Tyler Dorsey, a member of the team, led those in attendance at Tuesday’s Newton County Board of Commissioners (BOC) meeting in the Pledge of Allegiance.

The team finished first in six regional competitions before being invited to participate in the state competition.

The Liberty team constructed the robot they used in competition.
