According to Covington/Newton County 911 several roads are already becoming treacherous. Drivers are urged to use extreme caution and to stay off the roads if at all possible. Below is a list of icy areas as they are reported:

o Ga. Highway 162 from Ga. Highway 81 to Tempie Road

o Ga. Highway 142

o Interstate 20 overpass

o Interstate 20 east and westbound at exit 93

o Ga. Highway 81 south between Crowell Road and Ga. Highway 162

o Ga. Highway 212 just below Ga. Highway 81

o Eastbound ramp of exit 90 off I-20

o Monticello Street

o Pennington Street

o Piper Road

o Dearing Street

o Lover's Lane Road – ice is making it impossible for cars to get up the hill

o U.S. Highway 278 between Mill Street and Ga. Highway 142

o Ga. Highway 142 and Sewell Road

o Ga. Highway 36 at Laure Lane and County Road 213

o Brown Bridge and Turner Lake Road

Additionally, there are also accidents reported on Hwy. 212 just past Hwy 81 with no road blockage and at Old Atlanta Highway behind Longhorn's an overturned vehicle is blocking the roadway. There are also accidents on Flat Shoals Road just below the bypass and on the eastbound ramp of exit 90 under the bridge - both accidents are not blocking the roadway.
