The Georgia Hummer Study Group will hold its annual hummingbird plant sale from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday at Sunflower Farm, 1380 Durden Road, Rutledge.
Unusual plants that attract hummingbirds will be on sale as well as other perennials and annuals. Some vines, shrubs and even fruit trees ready for planting will be on sale. A large selection of seeds from the Sunflower Farm gardens will also be available.
The Georgia Hummer Study Group is a non-profit organization whose mission is to study and gather information on hummingbirds as they travel through and nest in Georgia. This information is used by State and Federal Wildlife organizations to help conserve and promote this beautiful bird.
Feeders should be out now as the hummingbirds are already in Georgia and in need of nectar. For information, call (706) 557-2870.
