Holiday lights finally coming down
Christmas lights being taken down2Web

The square was still in a festive spirit this week, but only because the bitter cold prevented crews from taking down Christmas lights around the square.

Employees with Live Events Solutions, the company contracted to create this year’s downtown display, were taking down lights as fast they could Thursday, but employee Gary Teal said it takes two hours to unwind lights from some trees, and with 67 trees to finish, he said the last of the lights might not be down until the end of the month.

The remaining lights have all been turned off, Teal said, though he noted the electricity costs were low with 225 LED bulbs only costing around $8 a month to power.
