Correction (Sept. 13): Due to a source's error, the details of the crash were inaccurately reported. According to the official traffic crash report from the Georgia State Patrol, Trinity Campbell apparently failed to maintain his lane and exceeded the posted speed limit, while driving on Henderson Mill Road Sept. 2. His actions appeared to have caused the accident.

An Oxford woman and a man from Jasper County died on Sunday night after being involved in a head-on collision in Jasper County.

Kati Womack, 21, and Trinity Campbell, 39, were both pronounced dead on the scene of the accident that happened at Henderson Mill Road and County Line Road just before 11:30 p.m.

Tom Bailey with the Madison post of the Georgia State Patrol office said both drivers entered a curve traveling in opposite directions when the two vehicles crashed into one another and caught fire.

Bailey said both families have been contacted and they continue to investigate the accident.
