U.S. Congressman Hank Johnson (D-GA) will attend Saturday's town hall from 10 a.m. to noon at the Porter Memorial Branch Library, 6191 Ga. Highway 212, Covington.
State Sen. Ronald Ramsey (D-Lithonia), Rep. Pam Dickerson (D-Conyers) and District 2 Commissioner Lanier Sims had previously confirmed they would be in attendance.
Sims said each elected official will give a quick update on local and state issues, but the majority of the town hall will be comprised of an informal question and answer session.
Dickerson, Johnson and Ramsey have all added portions of western Newton County during the latest redistricting following the 2010 Census. Sims' district actually shrunk during local redistricting, because his district was overpopulated.
Rep. Steve Davis (R- McDonough), who also represents a portion of southwest Newton County, may be in attendance.
