The Georgia State Patrol has issued 29 citations in Newton County so far this holiday weekend, with about half of citations being for people not wearing seat belts or buckling up children, said public information officer Gordy Wright.

Outside of those tickets, the weekend has been a quiet one so far, according to Wright and the Newton County Sheriff's Office.
