Georgia Piedmont Technical College (GPTC), through its Foundation, will host its annual Family Fun and Food Fest, Saturday, June 7, 2014, from 11:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m. The Family Fun and Food Fest will be held at the Newton Campus D Building and Conference Center. Now in its third year, the festival serves as a fundraiser for the GPTC Foundation. Admission to the event, including all activities, is free.
Family Fun and Food Fest has something for the entire family and will appeal to all ages. Scheduled activities will include games, face-painting, storytelling, inflatable bounce houses, DJ, music and so much more. Interested adults will receive blood pressure checks, vital signs checks and cholesterol checks from emergency medical personnel.
In addition to supporting the college’s foundation, Family Fun and Food Fest provides an ideal opportunity to highlight many of our public service partners as they showcase their equipment and services. For example, demonstrations will be offered by police K9 services, emergency medical services, fire department personnel and police Explorers.
A variety of food choices will include pizza, hot dogs (choice toppings: mustard, catsup, chili, onions, coleslaw), drinks and cookies for purchase with proceeds supporting GPTC Foundation student scholarships.
As part of its Be ACTive lifestyle campaign, Georgia Piedmont Technical College will unveil its Newton Campus walking trails. The Be ACTive campaign, co-chaired by First Lady Nisha Simama and Vice President of Community Engagement and Public Affairs Cynthia Edwards, was launched as a campus-wide initiative to promote health and wellness at the college and within the communities in which they serve.
The Newton Campus is located at 8100 Bob Williams Parkway, Covington, Georgia, 30014, (Newton County).
