Glenn Rossol Nielsen of Covington died Tuesday August 13 at Newton Medical Center. He was born in 1935 in Windom, Minn., the son of Carl and Elna Rasmussen Nielsen. He was a loving father, grandfather and great-grandfather. He worked in the aerospace industry all his life; he and his fellow engineers signed their names in the insulation on the Surveyor landing craft which was sent to the moon. He enjoyed panning for gold in California, making puzzles, camping and fishing. He also enjoyed going to the horse track. He was preceded in death by his mother and father, Elna and Carl Nielsen and brother Gerald Nielsen.

Mr. Nielsen is survived by son and daughter-in-law, Doug and Gail Nielsen, of Conyers, sisters, Arla Engen, Donna Ripple, Virginia Rudberg; brothers, Cliff and Marv Nielsen; grandchildren, Heather Ryder, Chasity Mealer, Letice Fisher; and great-grandchildren, Chloe Sherrill, Addison and Jordan Ryder, Clayton, Cory and Mason Mealer.
