An open house to discuss a Georgia Department of Transportation proposed project on Ga. Highway 212 in Newton County will be held on Nov. 20 at Oak Hill Elementary School. The public is encouraged to drop by anytime between 4 p.m. and 7 p.m. No formal presentation will be given.

The purpose of this informal open house is to provide the public with an opportunity to ask questions and comment on the proposed widening of Ga. Highway 212 from the intersection of County Road 8 and Bethany Road to the intersection of County Road 19 and Oak Hill Road.

"We are eager to hear the viewpoints and concerns of all area residents," said Tony Collins, GDOT district engineer in Tennille.

Newton County residents interested in learning more are encouraged to attend, view displays, share their thoughts and concerns with GDOT representatives and provide written comments. Handouts will be made available after the meeting and can be accessed by visiting GDOT’s Web site at www.dot.ga.gov and selecting General Public and then selecting Public Involvement.
