You can have your say and get additional information on proposed cuts to the Newton County Schools budget in a forum at 6:30 tonight at Alcovy High School, 14567 Ga. Highway 36.
Superintendent Gary Mathews will go over the list of 13 potential cuts and what they would mean to the system as well as how much they would cut from the 2011-2012 budget, which is being pared down $9 million. Dennis Carpenter, deputy superintendent for operations, also will speak about the budget.
Time will be set aside for those in attendance to ask questions (three-minute limit).
