Family Christmas night Friday at The Oaks
Placeholder Image

The giant reindeer are already out at The Oaks Golf Course, but Santa, roasted marshmallows and Christmas lights will ring in the season Friday.

The Oaks is hosting its Family Fun Night from 5:30 to 8 p.m. at the course at the cost of a $10 per family donation to the Miracle League of Newton County, which is working to build a special-needs baseball field next to City Pond Park. Donations above $10 are welcomed.

Families will be able to see and take pictures with Santa (bring your own camera), decorate cookies, roast marshmallows at an outside fire and enjoy the lighted golf course via hayride.

The putting area and 10th and 11th holes on the course will be lit, and Chuck Berry of Berry’s Tree Farm has donated a flatbed trailer to give hayrides to see the lights and other decorations around the course.
