Fairy House Festival enchants Covington
Placeholder Image

Chimney Park was transformed yesterday into an enchanted fairy forest, full of visitors young and old.

Children with fairy wings and glittered, painted faces decorated fairy wings and other crafts. Some also listened to story time as they sat on logs.

Crickets Mobile Petting Zoo from Rome also offered visitors a chance to pet some furry creatures like rabbits, chickens, ducks and even a little, gray pig.

The remains of the old house that used to sit in Chimney Park was used to showcase some of the fairy homes designed and created by various local organizations like the Covington Women's Club and Main Street Covington. Other fairy homes were tucked into tree coves or at the base of trees to attract little sprites and gnomes. All fairy houses were made of natural materials.
