Several organizations joined together Tuesday to hold a voter registration drive at the Newton County Library for National Voter Registration Day.

God’s Concerned Citizens of the USA and World, the Newton-Rockdale Chapter of the League of Women Voters, the Chi Tau Omega Chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha, and the Newton County Branch of the NAACP helped to register new voters from 11:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. According to the National Voter Registration Day website, volunteers, celebrities, and organizations from all over the country create awareness of voter registration opportunities by going out into their communities.
