Porterdale Elementary's Parent University has several programs planned

Porterdale Elementary School's parent university has planned several programs this year for parents. Parent University was designed to increase parental involvement in the school.

Earlier this year parents have enjoyed participating in our Make and Take Math, Reading Camp-In, and Reading Make and Take programs. On Thursday, January 21, 2009, Porterdale held Computer Night for parents. The topics that were covered included computer safety, E-Learn, Accelerated Reader, and CRCT online.

The parent programs have been very successful this year. It was standing room only at the Reading Camp-In where students had the opportunity to listen to guest speakers read books from different genres. Parents gained information to help their children at home. We are excited about kitchen science night coming up in March.
