COVINGTON, Ga. – Picketers from the Metro Association of Classroom Educators spent Thursday afternoon outside the office of the Newton County School System.
Metro Association of Classroom Educators chairman, Dr. John R. Alston Trotter, said his organization came to Covington to protest conditions at Middle Ridge Elementary School. Trotter said the group has received several complaints about the school.
“We represent teachers and they call us a lot,” he said. “We picket usually when it gets sort of egregious.”
NCSS spokesperson Sherri Davis said NCSS is not aware of any concerns at the school.
“We are not aware of any concerns regarding Middle Ridge,” she said. "We have not received any complaints and the picketers did not share their concerns with anyone at the board office.”
