Newton High CTI student and coordinator attend legislative breakfast

On Thursday Feb. 12, the Georgia Career and Technical Education in conjunction with the Georgia Career and Technical Student Organization’s sponsored the Annual Legislative Breakfast at the at the Georgia Freight Depot in Atlanta. Attending from Newton High School was CTI State Officer DeOndre Robinson and Region 7 Director Gloria Fallings.

The Legislative Breakfast is held each year and is an opportunity for students enrolled in career, technical and agricultural education courses in middle and high school programs to have their Senator and Representative as their guest for breakfast. State Superintendent Kathy Cox, Lieutenant Governor Casey Cagle, and Speaker of the House Glenn Richards were on program and spoke to the group.

After the breakfast all student organizations toured the capital and took a group picture. The student organizations represented at the breakfast include: Georgia Career Student Association (CSA), Georgia Career & Technical Instruction (CTI), Georgia DECA: An Association of Marketing Students, Georgia Family, Career and Community Leaders of America (FCCLA), Georgia FFA Association, Georgia Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA), Georgia Health Occupations Students of America (HOSA), Georgia SkillsUSA, Georgia Technology Student Association (TSA).
