Gov. Nathan Deal along with the Governor’s Office of Student Achievement (GOSA) announced that Eastside High School has received a Gold Level Greatest Gains school award. Eastside was one of 187 Georgia schools recognized as either a Greatest Gains or Highest Performing school.
“I want to congratulate all of the award-winning schools across our state, as well as the students and teachers who have worked tirelessly toward these accomplishments,” Deal said.
The school awards, developed by GOSA and approved by the State Board of Education, are part of Georgia’s Single Statewide Accountability System. Highest Performing schools must earn a three-year average ranking in the 93rd percentile on the College and Career Ready Performance Index (CCRPI) Achievement Score. Greatest Gains schools must earn a three-year average ranking in the 93rd percentile on the CCRPI Progress Score.
Eastside’s CCRPI Progress Score ranked in at least the 97th percentile, earning it the Gold Level Greatest Gains school designation.
“This recognition affirms the work of our students and staff members over the previous three years,” said EHS Principal Jeff Cher. “The accomplishment confirms that sustained, comprehensive school improvement is possible with a team of dedicated professionals who want to make a positive difference in the lives of students. We are extremely proud of this honor.”
