About 200 people came to learn about science as well as to see and touch the animals at Oxford College of Emory University’s “critter crawl” on March 19. Sarah Fankhauser, assistant professor of biology, organized the event. Her goal was to bring science to the people of Newton County as well as to bring people to see the science that she, other professors, and students are engaged in.

This is the second year that Fankhauser has organized an event as part of the annual Atlanta Science Festival. In its fourth year and running through March 24, the Atlanta Science Festival is offering 100 events over eleven days. The events showcase the world-class science, technology, engineering, and mathematics going on in the metro region’s colleges, universities, museums, businesses, and other institutions.

On March 21, Oxford College will be offering another event as part of the Festival. “It’s About Time,” a discussion about what time means to local researchers and their science will be offered from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. in the Oxford College Science Building.
