Jordan Beam, a second-grade student at Piedmont Academy, won first prize in the primary division of a T-shirt art contest for the Georgia Department of Natural Resources, Wildlife Resources Division.

Jordan's drawing of a barn owl was one of 54 entries from across the state of Georgia. He was given a gift certificate to Michael's Arts and Crafts.

The luncheon and awards ceremony was held at Charlie Elliott Wildlife Center. Jordan is the son of Michael and Kharmin Beam of Newborn.
