Newton County high school students are invited to register for a college fair to be held at Alcovy High School in September.

The Newton County School System will host a PROBE College Fair from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Sept. 4 in the Alcovy High commons area.

PROBE is an organized college fair tour that attracts representatives from non-profit educational institutions to shopping malls, civic centers, and high schools in the state, according to a news release from the Newton County School System.

All high school students in the county are invited. Students and parents will have the chance to speak with representatives from nearly 70 colleges and technical colleges throughout Georgia. The representatives will be able to answer questions about financial aid; housing; programs of study; admissions requirements; scholarships; and campus life.

Timica Parker, lead counselor for Alcovy High School, encouraged all high school students and parents to attend.

"This is an excellent opportunity for students and parents to see the many options available to them in terms of colleges, programs of study, and financial aid," Parker said. Students can register by visiting gotocollegefairs.com and clicking "register now" for the "Georgia Probe 9/4/13 Wednesday September 4, 2013 5:30 -7:30 pm Alcovy High School." However, pre-registration is not mandatory.
